"Eve Arroyo has been a godsend to me since the moment we connected! I love how she researches what’s new to her in my books and doesn’t try to change my voice. I’ve been working with her on over thirty books and can’t sing her praises enough!"

Author of: The Trident Series

Quality editing, the right thing to do.

I think we can all agree nothing screams amateur louder than a poorly edited manuscript.

Just because you're an indie author, doesn’t mean you can’t produce a professional product.

Testimonials

I want to work with you to make your book as polished as possible. I view myself as more than just your editor, but also as a collaborator.

In fact, that’s how I got started. With the boom of the indie book market, I was reading more self-published books and finding the lack of editing turned me off. Even if the story had merit, I just couldn’t get past the grammatical errors and plot holes. So, I decided to do something about it and here I am!

What I Check For

✓ The basics

Spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors.

✓ Dialogue

I make sure everything is natural and concise.

✓ Clear and concise writing

Misused words, missing words, extra words, word repetition (like in this sentence!), homonyms, and unnatural phrasing.

✓ Ambiguous or factually     incorrect statements

✓ Ambiguous or factually incorrect statements

I'll do a very small amount of internet research, but more often I'll suggest you look up information.

✓ Correct tense usage

It's an easy mistake to make.

✓ Consistency

Plot holes, inconsistencies, and things that will confuse your reader, or leave them with too many questions.

Two-step Editing Process

01

Draft Edit

I will edit and make suggestions via the MS Word Review tab, then return it to you for revisions. At that time I will also send you an invoice with a handy link to PayPal for ease of payment. Payment is due upon receipt, and must be received before I do the second edit.

02

Final Edit

After you have made all changes and corrections to your manuscript return it to me for a second edit. The second pass is included in the original price.

My job doesn’t end when I return the final manuscript to you.

If you have questions or comments, I’m always available to respond to them. If you’re writing your WIP and need some input, I’m more than happy to give you an answer.

I use The Chicago Manual of Style, 17th Edition and
Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary.

Are you ready?

If you’re going to pour your heart and soul into your project the last thing you want is to have low sales and hurtful reviews because of poor writing. Writing is an art.

Honesty is the best policy, and you want the truth about your work. If your manuscript is not ready to be edited or published I’ll tell you so. I will provide constructive criticism on how you can improve it, usually with a recommendation to join a quality writer’s group. Most beginning authors (and some more experienced) need to hone their skills and learn the rules of their craft before they're ready to present for public scrutiny.

"I've worked with Eve for several years now on a number of series. She is amazing to work with. She's very thorough and professional, yet she always takes a real interest in the story. I look forward to working with her for many projects to come."

Laylah Roberts

Author of: The Wilde Series

I will always edit the first chapter for new clients for free. I'll include a per word price quote, and let you know my availability. If you're satisfied with the results of the sample edit and agree with the pricing and availability, email me a complete copy of your manuscript.
